Meditate
Interfaith ChapelA great way to get away from the chaos of the main terminal is to spend some time in the Airport Interfaith Chapel. Most airports will have multi faith prayer rooms available for traveling passengers. These are open, inviting spaces where guests are encouraged to be quiet and respectful and take some time for reflection. Take some time to relax and meditate in the calm and quiet environment. Choose one of our guided meditation videos, which you can find over on the ‘Videos’ tab and use your airport downtime to relax and centre yourself. There are two interfaith chapels at IAH. On is located in Terminal C, near Gates C29 - C33 and the other is in Terminal D, near Gate D8.
Enjoy The Airport Art
Art and music at IAHThe Houston Airport system has one of the largest public art collections in Texas, displayed throughout the two airports in the area, HOU and IAH. The collection features everything from sculptures to photographs from mostly Texas based artists. Spend your airport downtime strolling through the Terminals and enjoying all the exhibits it has to offer.IAH also features live music and performing arts performances for travelers through the Harmony in the Air program. The program features a diverse range of cultural performances to help make the airport terminal a more enjoyable place for passengers. Live performances take place every day in Terminal A in the northside Atrium and in Terminal D near Gate D8.
Stretch
If you don’t have much time at the airport before your flight but still want to do something good for your body and mind, take the time to stretch and do some yoga. You don’t even have to venture far from your gate, find a little space and stretch and move your muscles before getting on your flight. There are lots of video tutorials you can follow in the Sanctifly app and none of them require equipment or very much space. You can find them over on the ‘Videos’ tab. You won’t regret it!
