Head downtown
If you have a longer layover at PHL, take the opportunity to head to downtown Philadelphia and explore the city. The airport is located 10 miles from the city center and is well connected via public transport links. Catch the Airport Line Bus from Terminal A to Jefferson Station and you will get downtown in approx. 40 minutes. Spend your day exploring the local museums or soaking up the atmosphere of the city. Bus: The Airport Line will take you direct from the airport to downtown Philadelphia. You can catch the Airport Line from Terminal A in the airport. Train: SEPTA (South Eastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority) provides train service between Center City and the Airport on the Airport Regional Rail Line. Trains run every 30 minutes.
