Things to do in Hami Airport
Hami (Kumul) is an ancient oasis at the eastern gateway to Xinjiang's Silk Road, and the city that gave its name to the honeydew melon — Hami melons are among China's most prized agricultural exports, grown in this sun-drenched, mineral-rich terrain. The Hui Wang (Hami Khanate) Tombs are an ornate Qing-era mausoleum complex for the local Uyghur rulers who pledged loyalty to the Qing Emperor. The Heavenly Lake of Hami (Tianshan Tianchi) offers alpine scenery at considerably fewer crowds than Urumqi's version of the same.
