Tengchong in western Yunnan is one of China's most geologically active areas — a volcanic cluster with over 100 extinct and dormant volcanoes, geothermal hot springs at the Rehai (Hot Sea) national park, and the dramatic Heshun Ancient Town. Tengchong was also a key WWII Burma Road supply hub, and the Guo殇 Cemetery for Chinese troops and the National Museum of China's Expeditionary Force commemorate this history.
