Work Out

Planet FitnessDon’t let travel disrupt your fitness routine. Use your airport downtime to workout. Head to Planet Fitness for a full-service gym with cardio equipment, free weights and more. Work up a sweat and then freshen up with a shower before heading to the airport for your flight. You will need to bring your own towel and toiletries so don’t forget to put them in your carry on.You usually need to be a Planet Fitness Black Card member to visit their gyms however Sanctifly premium members can use a Sanctifly pass to get 30 days access to all of Planet Fitness 1800+ locations. You can find and book a Planet Fitness gym experience over on the ‘Facilities’ tab.Located 5.3 miles from the airport. The quickest and easiest way to get there is by taxi. Alternatively, you can get the Gold or Red Metro Line to Lakewood-Fort McPherson Transit Station and then the 183 bus to Greenbriar Pkwy @ the Fontaineble.

Run In The Park

Sykes ParkGet out of the airport and into the fresh air by spending your airport downtime at Sykes Park. A great spot for a hike or a leisurely walk, the park has several trails that you can follow. The park is a popular spot for mountain bikers so make sure you adhere to the rules while walking the trails. Tennis and basketball courts are also available in the park. Located 4.1 miles from the airport. The quickest and easiest way to get there is by taxi. Alternatively, you can take the Red or Gold line to East Point Station, then the 181 bus to Washington Rd @ Dodson Dr Conn and walk for approx. 12 minutes to get to the park entrance.

Visit the Museum

Delta Flight MuseumIf you have a few hours to spare and want to leave the airport but don’t have the time to head downtown, spend your time at the Delta Flight Museum. Located close to the airport, the museum holds vintage aircraft and uniforms from over the years. The museum is in Delta’s historic hangar and the exhibits and simulators are full of interesting information. Open from 10:00 – 16:30 on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday and 12:00 – 16:30 on Sundays. The museum is closed on Wednesdays. General admission is $15. Book an experience on the flight simulator to experience what it’s like to fly a commercial airplane.Located 2.6 miles from the airport. The quickest and easiest way to get there is by taxi. Alternatively, you can take the Red or Gold line to College Park Transit Station and then the 172 bus from Main St @ John Wesley Ave to Virginia Ave @ Delta Blvd.

Luggage Storage

As with most airport in the US, there are no luggage storage facilities available at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. If you have layover at ATL and want to store your luggage try these options:
  • Ask at the airport information desk for recommendations on nearby luggage storage facilities.
  • If you are heading downtown, check for luggage storage lockers at bus and train terminals
  • Use Google to find a luggage storage service. There are lots of apps and websites that offer luggage storage options on large cities across the US.
