Walk Along The Beach

Portmarnock BeachAirports can be quite stressful. If you have the time to get away for a few hours, treat yourself to the beautiful view of the Dublin Mountains and Howth Harbour by taking a stroll on Portmarnock Beach. The beach is 8 km long, adjoins Malahide Beach and stretches to Baldoyle. This is a great way to get some exercise and fresh air during a long layover.Leave your luggage at ExcessBaggage and take a 12-minute taxi to the beach. Taxis are available directly outside of Terminals 1 and 2.

Walk/Run In The Park

Santry ParkEnjoy the fresh air and beautiful scenery at Santry Park. The site includes a 72-acre park and a 15-acre linear park on the banks on the Santry river, where there is plenty of space to go for a walk or run. Opens at 09:00. The closing time depends on the time of year. Please check the www.fingal.ie website.Located 2.7 miles from the airport. Take the number 16 bus which departs from Stop 7347 outside Terminal 1 or take a 9-minute taxi from Terminals 1 or 2.

Stroll In The Gardens

National Botanic GardensTake a break from the busy airport and take a walk around the award-winning gardens that are known for their beautifully planted glasshouses. Tourists can enjoy such features as the herbaceous borders, rose garden, the alpine yard, the pond area, rock garden and arboretum.Located 5.1 miles from the airport. Leave your luggage at ExcessBaggage and grab a taxi.Admission is free. The park is open Monday to Saturday 09:00 to 17:00, and Sunday 10:00 to 17:00.

Go For A Swim

ALSAA Swimming Pool and GymSanctifly members can use a pass to go for a swim in the 25-metre pool or relax in the jacuzzi and steam room. Freshen up with a shower afterwards before catching your flight. You can find and book pool experiences over on the ‘Facilities’ tab.Located just 650 metres from the airport, it can be easily reached by foot. From Terminal 2 Departures, head right to Corballis Avenue and the pool will be to your left on Corballis Avenue.

Luggage Storage

ExcessBaggageExcessBaggage provides a luggage storage service at Dublin Airport. Rates are applied per item for the following time periods:
  • €7.00 up to 4 hours
  • €12.50 up to 24 hours 
  • €20.00 up to 48 hours
  • €25.00 up to 72 hours
  • €5.00 for every subsequent day.
Open daily from 05:00 to 23:00. Located in Terminal 1 Arrivals area on the Main Concourse.
