Head Downtown
If you have a longer layover at BNE, don’t spend it sitting at the gate, head to downtown Brisbane and explore the city. The airport is located 9.3 miles from the airport and is well connected via public transport routes. Brisbane is the capital of Queensland and the cultural hub of the province. Spend your airport downtime exploring the many museums and galleries or visit the Brisbane Botanic Gardens located on Mount Coot-tha and enjoy stunning panoramic views of the city. Avoid Downtown
If you have a longer layover but don’t want to spend it in the city, head north from the airport instead and visit the Tinchi Tamba Wetlands Reserve. This large park is perfect for hiking, canoeing, fishing and more. Located 14.5 miles from the airport, the quickest and easiest way to get there is via taxi or rental car.

Train: The Airtrain is a quick and easy option for getting to and from the city from the airport. Train services run every 15 minutes during peak times from Airtrain stations at both the Domestic and International Terminals. The train will get you downtown in approx. 20 minutes.Taxi: Taxis are available 24/7 from sheltered ranks right outside the Domestic and International Terminals.
Overnight Layover?
If you have an overnight layover and want to get a good night’s sleep there are many options located close to Brisbane Airport. The Ibis Hotel is located right next to the airport and offers passengers a free shuttle bus to and from the terminals. The Ibis Hotel is perfect for travelers that just want to get some sleep before their flight. For travelers that want a hotel with more amenities such as a fitness center and a swimming pool, head for the Novotel Brisbane Airport, located 3.1 miles from the airport. The hotel offers a paid shuttle service; however it is located in the Skygate Shopping Center which has a free shuttle to and from the airport during opening hours.

Storage LockersThere are storage lockers available in both the Domestic and International Terminal. In the Domestic Terminal you will find lockers outside the Qantas and Virgin Terminal areas and in the International Terminal lockers can be found on Level 1. Prices start from $12 for a small locker.
