Head downtown
If you have a longer layover at Dallas Love Field, why not head to downtown Dallas and explore the city? The airport is located just 7.9 miles from downtown Dallas and is well connected with public transport links. Dallas is a hub of culture and music with lots of museums and restaurants to spend your time exploring. Getting downtown via public transport will take you approx. 1 hour. Make sure you leave plenty of time to get back to the airport and through security before your next flight.Avoid downtown
Visit the Botanical GardensIf you have a longer layover at Dallas Love Field but don’t want to head to downtown Dallas, spend your layover exploring and enjoying the Dallas Arboretum. One of the top botanical gardens in the US, the Dallas Arboretum has 19 distinct gardens and covers 66 acres. Enjoy the fresh air and the beautiful surroundings before heading back to the airport to catch your flight. The gardens are located 13 miles from Dallas Love Field Airport. The quickest and easiest way to get there is by taxi. You can also take public transport. Take the 542 bus to Inwood/Love Field Station and then the Green Line to Fair Park Station. Walk for approx. 1 minute to Parry @ Exposition - N – FS and take the 060 bus to Garland @ Tavaros - N – NS.Overnight Layover?
There are no hotels located in the airport however there are a number of hotels located close by for travelers that have an overnight layover. Most of which will offer a free shuttle service to and from the airport. The Embassy Suites by Hilton Dallas-Market Center is a great option if you want to maintain your fitness routine during your layover. The hotel features a fitness center and a pool for guests. This hotel is located 2.7 miles from the airport. Another great option is the Hilton Dallas Park Cities, located 2.6 miles from the airport and the Hilton Anatole, located 3.4 miles from the airport.Luggage Storage
As with most airport in the US, there are no luggage storage facilities available at Dallas Love Field Airport. If you have layover at DAL and want to store your luggage try these options:- Ask at the airport information desk for recommendations on nearby luggage storage facilities.
