Head downtown

If you have a 6+ hour layover at DOH, take advantage of your downtime and head into the city. The airport is located 9.3 miles from the airport and is well connected via public transport links. Avoid downtown

If you have a longer layover but don’t want to head into the city, head south instead to Souq Waqif. Located 9.8 miles from the airport, this seafront market is a historical landmark. Experience a real middle eastern bazaar that has been in operation for over one hundred years. There are also lots of restaurants, museums and a beach nearby. The quickest and easiest way to get there is by taxi and remember to always make sure you leave plenty of time to get back to the airport and through security before your next flight.

Transport Options

Bus: Doha’s bus network connects Hamad International Airport to various destinations across the city. All buses depart from our Bus Pavilion that is located to the right of the Arrivals Hall. Overnight Layover?

If you have an overnight layover at DOH and want to get a good night's sleep there are many options available to you at and near the airport. The Oryx Airport Hotel is the only hotel option available at the airport and is the best option for overnight layovers. Located inside the transit area of the airport, just 2 minutes from Immigration and 5 minutes from Gates A10 or B10. If you want to venture further from the airport the Radisson Blu Hotel, Doha is located 5.9 miles from the airport and offers guests the use of a free shuttle bus.

There are no luggage storage facilities available at DOH.
