Head Downtown

If you have a longer layover at Dublin Airport, why not get out of the airport and enjoy the surrounding area? The trip into Dublin City takes approximately half an hour however, depending the on the time of day traffic can be heavy so make sure you give yourself enough time to get back to the airport and through security before your connecting flight. Head to Grafton Street and soak up the energizing atmosphere of the city.

Take A Stroll Around The Castle And Gardens at Malahide CastleIf you want to get out of the airport but don’t want to head into the city there are some great amenities close to Dublin Airport. Enjoy walking through Malahide castle and its beautiful surroundings. Celebrating 800 years of heritage, it is a lovely spot to experience history while also stretching your legs.Located 4.7 miles from the airport. Open Monday to Sunday, from 09:30 to 17:30.Guided tours of Malahide Castle run daily from 09.30. Last tour is at 16:30 in summer (April-October) and 15.30 in winter (November-March). Tour tickets include entry to Malahide Gardens, the Fairy Trail and Butterfly House.AirCoach: This bus leaves Dublin Airport every 30 minutes between 09:40 to 16:40 and brings you right into the city centre. There are also regular services between 17:25 to 08:55. Hop off at O’Connell street to view Dublin’s famous Spire. Pre-booking online is advised as these buses fill up quickly.Public Bus: Dublin Bus offers many routes throughout Dublin and operates from the Dublin Airport Bus Park in Zone 15.Airlink Express: Departs every 15 minutes from 04.45 to 00.30, 7 days a week. Connects with all Dublin transport providers; Dart Stations, Bus Éireann, LUAS, Dublin Bus, and Irish Rail. Their Bus & Travel Information Desk is in T1 Arrivals Hall.Taxi: Taxis are available from the forecourts directly outside Terminal 1 & Terminal 2. Follow Taxi signage to the designated taxi ranks.

Overnight Layover

If you have an overnight layover at DUB and want to get a good night sleep there are many options available to you near the airport.
