Head downtown

If you have a longer layover at BSL, take the opportunity to explore the nearby city of Basel. Basel is located 4.9 miles (8km) from the airport in Switzerland. The city and airport are well connected via direct public transport links (see transport options below). You can get to downtown Basel from BSL in approx. 20 minutes. Spend your day trolling by the River Rhine and enjoying the beautiful architecture and vibrant cultural scene the city has to offer.

Transport Options

Bus: The bus is the only public transport service that is directly connected to Euroairport Basel. Line 50 takes passengers direct from downtown Basel to the airport. The bus also stops at Basel train station where you can catch a train to the surrounding areas.

Overnight Layover?

If you have an overnight layover at Euroairport Basel, there are many hotel options within minutes of the airport. The Airport Hotel Basel is the closest and offers guests a free airport shuttle between 06:00 and 22:00.Unfortunately, there are no sleep options available in the transit area.Top Tip: EuroAirport offers travelers access to unlimited free Wi-Fi. Luggage Storage

Due to security reasons, there are no luggage storage facilities available at EuroAirport Basel. If you have a layover at BSL and want to store your luggage try these options:

  • If you are heading downtown, check for luggage storage lockers at bus and train terminals.
