Head downtown

If you have the time spend your airport layover exploring some of the most famous tourist attractions in the US such as Central Park or Times Square. The NYC Airporter bus provided passengers with a direct connection between La Guardia airport and Grand Central Station. Make sure you always give yourself enough time to get back to the airport and through security before your connecting flight.

Avoid downtown

If you don’t feel like heading downtown but still want to get out of the airport, head to the Queen’s botanical gardens instead. Located 4.6 miles from the airport, the gardens offer layover passengers a great opportunity to enjoy the fresh air and beautiful scenery without venturing too far from the airport. The gardens are open from 08:00 – 16:30 from November to March and from 08:00 – 18:00 from April to October. Admission costs $6.

Transport Options
