Run In The Park
Idlewild Park Getting out in the fresh air and into nature is a fantastic way to upgrade your airport downtime. Don’t spend your time stuck in the terminal, head for Idlewild Park and go for a walk or a run before your flight. Follow the nature trail or find a quiet spot among the plants and trees to mediate or do yoga. If you work up a sweat, why not head back to the airport and to the Primeclass Lounge in Terminal 1 to take a shower so you are feeling fresh before getting on the plane?Located 3.1 miles from the airport. Grab a taxi for a fast and easy way to get there or you can take the Q3 bus Farmers Blvd/Rockaway Blvd and walk for about 20 minutes to the park.

Take A Nap
JetBlue Nap PodsIf you have a few hours to spare at JFK at night, or you just feel like you need a little rest before your flight, take a nap in the JetBlue Nap Pods. Fall asleep to the sounds of calming music as the nap pod blocks out the sounds and lights of the airport. The pod will gently vibrate to wake you up after 20 minutes and you can continue on your journey feeling refreshed and energized. Located in Terminal 5.Relax On The BeachRockaway beachRockaway beach is a vast and sandy beach with a 5.5-mile boardwalk located not too far from JFK. A drastic contrast to the concrete jungle of New York City and the busy, fluorescent terminals of JFK, a walk on Rockaway beach is great way to clear your head and connect with nature. As with all of New York’s attractions the beach can get busy, especially during the summer season. Getting to the beach via public transport can be a bit laborious, you will need to take the AirTrain to the A train and then take a bus to get you to Rockaway beach. This will take you at least an hour (factor in more time at rush hour) but you can get there a lot faster if you grab a taxi from the terminal.Located approx. 9 miles from JFK.
